Upma recipe
Upma is an south Indian dish made of Rava. It is a popular breakfast dish across south India.It is usually made with refined wheat grains, which in India generally call suji and is also known in the south of India as rava.There are lots of varieties of Upma like rava upma,vegetable upma,bread upma,poha oats upma,vermicelli upma,semiya upma,aval upma.

Here is the recipe of Rava upma.
Ingredients
- Sooji-rava-1 cup
- Onion(chopped)-1no
- Oil-2tbsp
- Mustard seeds-1tsp
- Urad dal-1tsp
- Channa dal-1tsp
- Dry red chilly-1no
- Onion(chopped)-1no
- Ginger(finely chopped)-1small piece
- Green chilly-1no
- Curry leaves-a few
- Salt-to taste
- Fry the rava in a dry pan and keep aside.(Don't make it brown)
- Heat oil in the same pan and splutter the ingredients from 4 to 6.
- Add red chilly and fry it for few seconds.
- Add the onion and saute it for few minutes.
- Now add the ingredients from 9 to 11.
- When the raw smell disappears add water and bring to boil.
- At this point add the rava gradually and keep stirring.
- Cover the pan and simmer the stove.
- Cook it for 5 to 10 minutes.
- Stir it constantly while cooking to avoid lumps.
- Serve it hot.
