Sakkarai pongal
Pongal is a popular rice based South Indian dish popular especially in Tamil Nadu. There are different varieties of Pongal namely sakarai pongal (sweet pongal), khara pongal (spicy pongal). Here is the simple recipe to prepare sakarai Pongal.

Ingredients
- Raw rice-1cup
- Moong dal-2 tbsp
- Jaggery-2cup
- Milk-1cup
- Water-4 cup
- Cashew-a few
- Kismis-a few
- Ghee-4 tbsp
- Cardamom(powder)-1tsp
- Cook the rice and moong dal in a pressure cooker with water and milk.
- Melt the jaggery in 1/2 cup of water.
- Filter it and mix well with the cooked rice.
- Fry the cashews and kismis in ghee and pour it to the rice mixture.
- Finally sprinkle the cardamom powder and serve.
