Idly upma
Upma is an south Indian dish made of Rava. It is a popular breakfast dish across south India.It is usually made with refined wheat grains, which in India generally call suji and is also known in the south of India as rava.There are lots of varieties of Upma like rava upma,vegetable upma,bread upma,poha oats upma,vermicelli upma,semiya upma,aval upma.

Ingredients

Idly-4 or 5 nos
Oil-1 tbsp
Mustard seeds-1tsp
Urad dal-1tsp
Bengal gram dal-1tsp
Onion(chopped) -1
Green chilly -2 nos
Ginger(chopped)-1tsp
Curry leaves-2 sprig
Turmeric powder-1/4 tsp
Sambar powder-1/2 tsp
Coriander leaves- a few

Steps

Cut the idly into small pieces and keep aside.
Heat oil in a pan and splutter the mustard seeds.
Add urad dal and bengal gram dal, saute till it golden brown.
Add onion,green chilly and ginger.
Fry it for 3 to 4 minutes.
Add turmeric powder and sambar powder and saute until its raw smell disappears.
Add the idly cubes and mix well.
Cover it cook for few minutes.
Garnish it with coriander leaves and serve it hot.

Notes:Add some vegetables(carrot,beans,cabbage,green peas etc) and make it more healthy.
