Kerala fish curry
Kerala fish curry is famous because of it's special spicy nature.Here is how we the recipe to make Kerala Fish curry

Ingredients

  1. Fish(ayila/Mackerel or ayakura/Seer Fish)-1/2 kg
  2. Coconut oil-3 tbs
  3. Mustard-1 tsp
  4. Sambar onion-10Nos
  5. Ginger-1 piece(2 inch size)
  6. Garlic(sliced)-1tsp
  7. Chilly powder-2 tbsp
  8. kashmiry chilly powder-1tbsp(optional)
  9. Coriander powder-1 tsp
  10. Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
  11. kudam(ottu) puly-4 nos
  12. Curry leaves-2sprig

Steps

  • Clean and cut the fish into pieces.
  • Heat oil in a pan and crack the mustard seeds.
  • Add sliced onion and saute it for 2 minutes.
  • Add finely chopped ginger and garlic saute this another 3 minutes.
  • Add the ingredients from 7 to 10.
  • Saute this for few seconds in low flame.
  • Add 3 cup of water and kudam puly to it and mix well.
  • When it get boiled change it to a earthen pot (man-chatty) with the fish pieces.
  • Cook this for 10 to 20 minutes in low flame.
