Puttu is perhaps the most famous Kerala dish outside kerala.Here is the recipe which can help you to prepare puttu easily.Puttu is a culinary specialty in Kerala.

Ingrediants
  • puttu Powder - 2 cups (available in super markets)
  • Salt - a couple pinches
  • Warm water - 1/2 cup or so
  • Grated Coconut - 1/2 nos

preperation
  • Mix the puttu flour and salt well.
  • Sprinkle some warm water and mix the flour until it gets a bit moist.(do not use too much water)
  • Put a thin layer of grated coconut in the puttukutty and top with about 1/3 cup of flour.
  • Add another layer of coconut and then mixed flour until you reach the top.
  • Fix it onto a pressure cooker for steaming.
  • Usualy 10 to 12 minutes is needed and then remove and unmould.
  • Now the taesty puttu is ready.
  • It can be serve with kadala kurry or anyother veg and non veg curry.its very taesty with banana too.

Tips:Use 1 cup of grated coconut while mixing and keep aside for 10 minutes for more taesty puttu.
