Onion pakoda
Onion Pakoda is very popular evening snack in south India as well as North India.It is also famous across South Asia.It is also Known as Pakora across North India.Unlike the pakoras of the north, this onion pakoda is very crispy outside and medium soft to crispy inside. Pakoda/Pakoras are created by taking one or two ingredients, such as chicken, onion, eggplant, potato, spinach, cauliflower, tomato or chilli, dipping them in a batter of gram flour and then deep-frying them.


Ingredients

  • Onion-6
  • Salt
  • Besan-2cup
  • Rice flour-1/2 cup
  • Green chillies(chopped)-4 nos
  • Baking soda-a pinch
  • Curry leaves(chopped)-a few
  • Cilantro(chopped)-a few

Method

  • Thinly slice the onion (lengthwise).
  • Rub the onion with salt and keep aside for 5 minutes.
  • Now add the remaining ingredients and mix well(no need to add water as the onion leaves good amount of water,if it is necessary sprinkle some water).
  • Heat oil in a kadai and fry a small portion of the mix at a time until golden brown color.
  • Serve it hot with green chutney or tomato ketchup.
