Mysore Pak recipe - How to prepare Mysore pak - Karnataka snack recipes

Mysore pak
Mysore pak is a sweet dessert of Karnataka.It is made of  ghee, sugar and chick pea (besan) flour.Mysore Pak was first created in the kitchens of the Mysore Palace .Milk Mysore pak is a variation chick pea (besan) flour is replaced by Skimmed Milk Powder. The preparation is similar to that of Mysore Pack.
Here is the recipe of Mysore Pack
Ingredients

  • Besan(gram flour)-2cup
  • Ghee-2cup
  • Sugar-2 &1/2 cup
  • Water-1cup
Method

  • Mix the besan and melted ghee in a bowl.
  • In a kadai,dissolve the sugar in 1 cup of water,stir continousely  and simmer till the syrup is of string consistency.
  • Add the flour mixture and mix well.
  • Stir continously in one direction over medium heat.
  • When the mixture starts to leaving the corners,switch off the flame and spread it to a greased tray.
  • Cut into squares and enjoy.
