KALAN (MORU CURRY)
it is a famous south indian dish espesialy in kerala for onam.It famous in Tamilnadu also.Kalan is good for health and it is not spicy also.
Ingrediants
1.Yam-1cup(small pieces)
2.Raw banana -1 medium size
3.Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
4.Pepper powder-1tsp
5.Salt-to taeste
6.Curd-1/2 litre
7.Coconut-1/2 nos(scrapped)
8.Green chillies -5nos
9.Cumin seeds -1tsp
10.Coconut oil-1tbs
11.Mustard-1tsp
12.Red chilly-2nos
13.Fenugreek seeds -1/2 tsp
14.Curry leaves-1sprig
Preperation
Cook the ingrediants from 1to5 with 1 cup of water.Beat the curds well and mix it with the vegetables.
Grind the ingrediants from 7to9 and add this pasete to it. Stir it cotinuosly and Simmer on a low heat for 2to3 minutes.
Fry the ingrediants from 11to14 in coconut oil and mix it with the curry.Taesty kalan curry is ready.
