Garlic rasam,Poondu rasam,Veluthully rasam

Ingrediants
  • Garlic (chopped)- 10 pods
  • Tamarind-A small lime sized ball
  • Tomato-1nos
  • Rasam powder-1 tbsp
  • Pepper powder-1/2 tsp
  • Asafoetida-1/4 tsp
  • Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
  • Salt- to taste
  • oil-2 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds-1 tsp
  • Curry leaves- A few
  • Dry red chillies-3 nos
  • coriander leaves -A few
Preperation

  • Soak the tamarind in 1 cup warm water for few minutes and extract the juice.
  • Chop the tomato finely.
  • Garlic(chopped) ,tamarind juice, tomatoes, turmeric powder, salt, asafoetida,pepper powder, rasam powder and curry leaves bring to boil in a pan.
  • Once it boils,let it simmer the fire and keep it there for 15 minutes.
  • Heat oil in an another frying pan and crack the mustard seeds.
  • Add dry red chillies and few curry leaves.
  • Add boiled tamarind extract to this pan.
  • Mix it well together and garnish it with coriander leaves.
